November 18-20th, 2022 ยท Richmond, Virginia
Please join Emily and Josh, and the newest addition to our family, River, from November 18th to 20th, 2022 as we celebra
te our wedding celebration in Richmond Virginia.
(black tie optional)
After 4 wedding date changes, the time has finally come to celebrate. It has been a very rough couple of years and this year in particular has been full of ups and downs for our family, but we are excited for our new baby River to meet our favorite people and for us to share our love with everyone.
We would love to see each and every one of you there to celebrate this special moment with us. In the meantime, we hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy.
Technically, we have already gotten married and had a baby, but we are looking forward to celebrating the way that we always envisioned.
Shhhโฆdonโt tell, but we got married alreadyโฆand we already had a babyโฆ.and we even bought a house. We are full on adults.
Covid-19 hit the world and our dream of being married in June 2020 disappearedโฆ.and then our dream of getting married in November 2020 soon followed and a few other dates. There has been a lot of rescheduling, but someone once told us to be safe, but donโt always reschedule your lives. There was only one venue in California marrying couples and we made the decision to get hitched on May 17th, 2020 in Orange County, California. As you will see from the video below, we had to wear facemasks, we were only allowed one witness, and the ceremony was less than 5 minutes long, but it was worth it.
We have had some practice with being married, but still have a lot to learn. We look forward to hearing your words of advice and your stories and we hope you understand why we pushed the wedding back so many times to be safe. Finally, the time has come to celebrate.
Always stylish and edgy, Emily looks different whenever you see her. In the 3.5 years that Josh has known her, she has had hair ranging from bright red to jet black to electric blue to a cool brown. Place your bets on what color her hair will be at the wedding.
Emilyโs Story
Born in Westlake Village, California, Emilyโs last name, Malchicoff, means โsmall boyโ. But donโt let that fool you because she might be a petite package, but she has a big heart that radiates love.
She has an older brother, an older sister, two wonderful parents, and forty other relatives that might be at her parentโs house on any given day. They are all a true joy to be around. She is also a mother of twoโฆ.not kids, just two very rambunctious cats.
Emily has had quite the life. An avid traveller, she has been everywhere, yet still wants to see more. She climbed the corporate ladder in the music industry and then she hiked the scenic snowy lands of Iceland to see the Northern Lights. A few years ago, she got her yoga certification after a 2 month trip to Bali and Thailand.
Fun Fact: If Emily can dream it, she can probably find a way to plan it. If there were a competition on how to plan something, she would probably win a gold medal. If Josh get inspiration through art, Emily gets Inspiration through planning, which is just one way how they balance each other out.
Josh has been wearing jumpsuits at work on Fridays this past year and when he asked Emilyโs parents for their permission to propose, he was wearing this jumpsuit. I guess you can take the boy outta Virginia, but you canโt take the Virginia out of the boy.
Joshโs Story
Born in Richmond, Virginia, Josh always has a charismatic smile on his face, a joking manner, and an optimistic nature in his heart. He has two older brothers, a younger sister, and two parents that own family businesses.
He has had an adventurous, successful life in fashion working with celebrities in Hollywood. From award shows, to Marvel movies, to touring with KISS and the Jonas Brothers, or to rhinestoning outfits for Cher, chances are, he has probably worked on something you love to watch.
After being struck by a car in 2015, he had to learn how to walk again. In a time of his life that was full of challenges, he started talking to his neighbor, Emily. She has been brightening up his life ever since.
Fun Fact: Josh wants to take photos of everythingโฆ..literally everything. Please bring your camera so that he will put his down for 5 minutesโฆand then spend the next hour trying to remember where he sat it. I repeat, please bring your camera.
This was one of our first dates, not to mention, one of our first photos together. It was taken at the famous Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California just 5 minutes from where we both lived. Look at that posture! By the way we are standing, I think we are trying to figure out if this was an actual date.
Our Relationship
Emily was โthe girl next door.โ She was apartment #6 and I was lucky #7. We started out sharing an apartment wall together, and now, we will share our lives together.
Each year around the holidays, we go to a beautiful light exhibit called โEnchanted.โ It is a tranquil forest that is overflowing with surreal, interactive purple, blue, and teal lights. It is indescribably beautifulโฆ(just like Emily).
The first year that we went, it was extremely chilly. We were bundled up in scarves and thermals. The second year, it was crowded and brisk. The third year, she was traveling abroad, so we didnโt get to go, but the fourth year, I kept her warm by asking her to marry me.
The funny thing is that I had three places in mind for the proposal. She could have gotten engaged a half hour earlier, but someone did a proposal right in front of us! Can you believe that? It was lifeโs way of telling me to wait until the perfect time.
If there is one thing that we can say about our relationship, it is that we adore our friends and family.
Thank you for being a part of our story.
